A single PCIaaS platform.

Multiple ways to collect payments over the phone with maximum security

Pay by Call offers PaybyCall, a PCIaaS platform for secure IVR-based phone payments, certified PCI DSS Level 1 and aligned with ENS High Category.

From a single secure core, customers can activate different operating modalities and optionally incorporate PBC 3DS to bring PSD2 / 3D Secure strong customer authentication to the voice channel without interrupting the call.

A configurable PCIaaS platform for secure IVR payments

Pay by Call has developed PaybyCall, a single PCIaaS platform for secure phone payments, designed to enable the voice channel to operate with e-commerce-level security, traceability and integration.

From the same PCI DSS Level 1 certified core, PaybyCall protects card data, prevents its exposure to agents, call recordings or unauthorized systems, and integrates with the customer’s existing PSP, PBX and contact center architecture.

Its different operating modalities are not separate products, but different ways of using the same platform depending on the payment origin, the level of automation and the agent’s involvement. On any of them, customers can activate PBC 3DS to incorporate PSD2 / 3D Secure strong customer authentication directly into the voice channel.

Two main usage families: assisted payments and automated payments

PaybyCall adapts to six phone payment modalities and integrates seamlessly with the systems the customer already uses.

When the payment needs to be closed within the live conversation

The Assisted Payments modalities allow agent support to be maintained in high-value calls without exposing card data. The customer pays within the secure IVR environment of PaybyCall, while the agent guides the transaction without accessing sensitive information.

Assisted Payments are the natural choice when the goal is to complete the payment within the call itself, with lower channel friction, greater support and stronger operational control.

Full automation: secure payment collection without human intervention

For scenarios without agent intervention, PaybyCall offers automated modalities that reduce costs, extend availability and maintain security and compliance.

Ideal for recurring payments, mass operations, regularizations, reminders and self-service processes.

Automated payment modalities turn the telephone into an automated, scalable payment collection channel available 24x7, while always maintaining the same security core.

PBC 3DS

Native PSD2 / 3D Secure strong authentication in the voice channel

PBC 3DS is the optional strong customer authentication layer of PaybyCall, bringing PSD2 / 3D Secure 2.x to the telephone channel without taking the user out of the call.

Card data is captured within the secure IVR environment of PaybyCall. The platform communicates with the 3DS ecosystem through the integrated PSP, while the user validates the transaction using the method defined by their issuing bank, such as a banking app, SMS OTP or push notification.

Unlike the standard market approach, which typically redirects the user to an external web link, PBC 3DS keeps voice as the primary channel. This reduces abandonment caused by channel switching and brings greater security, continuity and traceability to phone payments.

Activation is configurable by modality, amount, service or risk level, allowing customers to combine transactions with strong customer authentication and MOTO transactions under the applicable exemptions, always within the PCI DSS-certified environment of PaybyCall.

PBC 3DS is a proprietary development by Pay by Call, based on a specific PSD2 / 3D Secure strong customer authentication method for the telephone channel, currently in the process of protection through an international patent application.

Why PBC 3DS is different

Pay by Link vs Assisted Payments

In this comparison, Pay by Link refers to the traditional market model: the customer receives a link, leaves the call and completes the payment through a web or app checkout.

It should not be confused with PBC Pay by Link, the PaybyCall modality in which the link triggers an automated call and the payment is still completed by voice, within the secure IVR environment.

When the payment starts from a high-intent call, the key difference is channel friction. Traditional Pay by Link forces the user to switch context, trust an external link and complete the payment outside the conversation.

By contrast, the Assisted Payments modalities of PaybyCall, especially PBC LAA and PBC TFA, allow the payment to be completed within the voice flow, with human guidance, without exposing sensitive data to the agent, and with the option to activate PBC 3DS to incorporate strong customer authentication without interrupting the call.

Pay by Link is an excellent complement for digital flows. But when the payment starts within a call, Assisted Payments with an agent help maximize conversion, control and continuity within the voice channel itself.

With PBC 3DS, that experience can incorporate PSD2 / 3D Secure strong customer authentication without interrupting the call.
